Austrian Tinies

These small buttons were made in Austria in the late 19th and early 20th century. They were constructed in several layers.  The top is usually at least partly metal, may be coloured and is often pierced to show other layer(s) below. They have a metal domed back (usually painted black), metal loop shank, and a rim which holds the top and back together.   Size 7/16" (1 cm), or less - small enough to fit through the NBS 1/2" measure.  All the buttons on this page are 1 cm or smaller.
