Can't complete the order and now everything looks out of stock?

Some customers have been unable to complete the order and pay.  When you go back and try again, you find all the items you want now appear to be out of stock.  This is because the buttons are now sitting in your shopping cart.

Solution 1:  Use the contact form to tell us, and we will immediately send you a Paypal invoice which you can pay direct in order to complete the order. The buttons remain reserved in your shopping cart until you pay the invoice, or we cancel the order.

Solution 2: When we check the "pending" box and find an incomplete order, we will email you to offer to send a Paypal invoice or cancel the order.

Can't enter Paypal details?

Customers have had some compatability issues.  You could try one of these 3 things:

(1)  You do need to select the billing address to be SAME AS SHIPPING ADDRESS.  If you do not press this button, you cannot proceed to enter payment details.

(2)  Using Firefox or Chrome rather than Internet Explorer, and using a computer, laptop, or tablet rather than an i-phone, will give you better access.

(3) Finally, your computer may be pointing at out-of-date short-cuts.  Try watching this video link which explains how to fix this problem.

Q: How do I work out prices in my currency?

All prices are quoted in £ sterling. Exchange rates fluctuate. Very roughly, to convert to your currency, think of £1 as equivalent to $1.5 or €1.1. So, for example:

  • Button cost £2.50, multiply by 1.5, equivalent cost USD 3.75

  • Button cost £2.50, multiply by 1.1, equivalent cost €2.75

When you complete a purchase, Paypal will use the actual exchange rate on the day of purchase and take the equivalent amount of dollars/euros or any other currency from your account, and send me the correct amount in sterling.

Q: How long will it take for the buttons to arrive?

Occasionaly we go away on short buying trips!  In which case there will always be a notice in the NEWS area at the foot of the Home Page.  Otherwise, buttons are always posted within 2 days, often the next day, after order is received.   Delivery times vary, but as a rough guide:

Within the UK: Usually 1-5 working days. "Large letters" are sent 1st class and "Small Parcels" or larger are sent 2nd class. Obviously I have no control on the Post Office services and it can take longer, especially in bad weather or at peak periods. In my experience very very few parcels fail to arrive but please keep in touch and let me know if you have any problems.

To North America: Usually 5-21 days. All parcels are sent by Royal Mail.  Occasionally parcels can be held in US Customs for a week or so, for security purposes and this seems to be entirely random. Obviously, this is beyond my control. In my experience very very few parcels fail to arrive but please keep in touch and let me know if you have any problems.

To Europe: Usually 3-21 days. All parcels are sent by Royal Mail. Delivery is often dependent on the speed of local postal services and obviously beyond my control.  In my experience very very few parcels fail to arrive but please keep in touch and let me know if you have any problems.

To Australia/NewZealand: Usually 5-21 days. All parcels are sent by Royal Mail Air Mail. In my experience very very few parcels fail to arrive but please keep in touch and let me know if you have any problems.

How many in stock?

You can tell how much is in stock of any item by typing 50 in the quantity box and ADD TO CART.  You will then get the message "Your Quantity exceeds stock in hand.  The maximum quantity that can be added is 1 [or however many are in stock]."  You can then amend the quantity in your cart. It is a pain to do it like this but at least you can see the information.

Q: I liked the buttons I bought - do you have any more the same?

The buttons we sell are all sourced from antique fairs or auctions, not purchased in bulk. So we only have a limited number of each button. When that stock is gone, we have no more of it, although we do sometimes find the same or similar buttons in another place.
