Vintage/antique glass buttons with a claw-set opaline glass centre - pale blue/white opaque glass with orange highlights when the light shines from some angles. Large vintage/antique button with pressed brass image of a “Gibson Girl” surrounded by swirly ribbon and floral rim. The brass is rivetted to a chunky dark brown bakelite base. Two metal loop shanks on the back and also two indentations (1 o’clock position) which may once have held other fixings(?). Large attractive collectable.

Antique, white glass, waistcoat ball buttons with swirly gold lines inside the glass. The glass looks a bit like opaline glass in places with a slight orange glow from some angles. Metal back plate and loop shank. The metal parts have signs of tarnish and need a good clean. The buttons were attached to this old (possibly original?) card for many years and I just took one out to show the back. Interesting collectables. Price is per button

Vintage embellishment in the form of a stylised flower, of pierced molded grey metal. Each petal is tipped with a translucent green glass ball. The green glass balls are attached to a brass wire, threaded through the metal base, and twisted in pairs on the back, to hold them in place. The back also has two pointed prongs which would be pushed through fabric, and bent to hold in place. This makes this an embellishment instead of a button - but a very pretty one. Price is per item

Blown black glass, hollow teardrop shape, with “wings” of white glass highlighted with gold lustre. Smooth domed top, and flat back with raised self shank. Slight rubbing to the gold lustre, but otherwise glass is perfectly smooth and shiny. Unidentified factory but interesting mid 20th century collectable.

Antique enamel button with two figures - she is crossing the river on a bridge while the soldier, in his smart uniform, walks beside her over the stepping stones. Enameled on gilt metal, with a border of sparkly cut steels individually rivetted through the base. Flat gilt metal back and loop shank. Sadly there is some damage to the enamel: a piece of her pink skirt is missing, and there are hairline cracks radiating from this. The shank is also slightly bent but still useable. Despite damage, still a charming romantic collectable
