Lovely antique silver buttons, with Art Nouveau style image of a young female head, her long flowing hair merging with the swirling lines and leaves in the border. Full English hallmarks: maker’s initials WH, anchor for Birmingham, lion for sterling silver and date letter “b” for 1901. Good example of its kind and a very pretty collectables. Set of 4 vintage/antique waistcoat buttons with different sporting lithographs of equestrian subjects - a jockey and 3 huntsmen. Each image is set in a gilt metal rim with metal back and loop shank. Not an exact matched set as the backs are slightly different, but very similar. Remounted on card as they store and travel better like that. Price is for the group of 4

Pair of antique solitaire or bachelor buttons, with detachable shanks which are released with a spring mechanism. They have red banded agate tops with stripes due to natural variegations in the stone. (White patches are reflections of light). The agate is held in a brass rim, with metal backs. Back stamped: WESTS PATENT with the WG monogram trade mark. Price is for the pair.

Japanese vintage/antique Satsuma button, with hand painted image of flowers, and a small butterfly, all outlined with gold lustre. Glazed back with unglazed top to the tunnel shank.

Very nice quality, early 20th century, dress button with a mother of pearl top surrounded by a white enamel border, pierced by a blue paste stone in the centre. Gold rim and back, with loop shank. The back is stamped 15 in a diamond lozenge. The 15 stamp was widely used in the UK from the mid 19th century up to 1932, and indicates 15 carat gold (625), though without the Assay office stamp this is not guaranteed as gold. Slight rust mark to edge of the pearl, otherwise good condition
