Gorgeous vintage button with a translucent red glass centre laid over a foiled or reflective surface, surrounded by a circle of paste stones and embellished with a smaller paste flower in the centre. Metal back and loop shank. This is the last of several sold recently and this one is imperfect - the very central paste stone looks smaller and may be a replacement(?); tiny chip to the rim of the glass, (7 o’clock position) and suspicion of some hairlines in the glass which are magnified in the photo. Despite its faults, still a very pretty button.

Boxed set of vintage waistcoat buttons, illustrating some of the famous adverts by Guinness, including the tortoise, kangaroo, toucan etc, each carrying a glass of Guinness. The images are under glass, held in a gilt metal rim, with gilt metal back and loop shank. The set of 6 comes in the original presentation box. Slight tarnish to the gilt metal rims, as often found on these buttons, but a charming and complete original set.
