Silver buttons, depicting an Art Nouveau style female head with an iris flower to her right. Signed by the artist or designer, Paul De Bryk and hallmarked with the maker’s initials JG (Joseph Gloster), anchor for Birmingham Assay office, lion for sterling silver, and date letter “c” for 1902. I have seen this design in base metal, but it looks absolutely stunning in solid silver. Could do with a gentle clean, especially on the backs, but otherwise good vintage condition. Price is per button.

Size of largest (demi cylinder in the centre) is approx 1.5” (3.8 cm) long
Lovely antique silver buttons, depicting the mythical Roman god Neptune or the Greek Poseidon. The Greek myth held that Poseidon struck the Acropolis with his trident, and a spring of water emerged, or in some versions a horse. The button shows Poseidon with his trident, riding on a shell among scrolls or waives, and the horse rising out of the water. The silver has a flat back and loop shank. The image is pierced, with nice crisp modelling. Hallmarked with the maker’s initials WH (on the left) and with the anchor for Birmingham, lion for sterling silver and date letter “a” for 1900 (on the right.) A lovely collectable. Price is per button.
