Descriptions

We try our best to describe the products as accurately as possible. The age and materials or construction of the buttons are estimates, to the best of our knowledge.

The buttons on this site are vintage, all are pre-loved and not pristine new, so may show signs of wear or damage. We try and point out where the damage is significant, but the photos also form part of the description. Any faults on a button are usually magnified in the photo.

We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours and images of the buttons but cannot guarantee that your computer monitor and the photographic process will not cause slight variations.

All descriptions of products or pricing are subject to change at any time without notice, at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to discontinue any product at any time.

Copyright

All photographs and descriptions on the site are written to help you when choosing and buying the buttons. We hope they also help collectors in building up their knowledge.

However, all descriptions and photographs remain the copyright of VintageButtonEmporium and should not be reproduced partly or wholly for commercial purposes.

Laundry and use of buttons

All buttons are sold as vintage collectible and have no guarantee of being laundry proof.

Many buttons were once removed from garments before (infrequent) laundry. Old metal buttons will rust. Glass buttons will break in modern washing machines. Celluloid buttons will catch fire on contact with an iron.

You can of course still use many of the buttons on this site, but you do so at your own risk and need to take appropriate care.

Shipping

We wrap all our buttons with care, using tissue paper, bubble wrap, plastic bags, jiffy bags, etc as most appropriate for your order. We do sometimes use recycled packaging for a greener planet.

In order to keep postage charges to a minimum, not all parcels are sent with a "Signed For" service. Please see the Shipping page for details. Royal Mail certificates of posting are always obtained. In our experience the vast majority of Ordinary Air Mail or Standard UK parcels arrive without any problems. By choosing this option, the customer accepts all risks of loss, delays, or damage in transit.

Buttons are despatched within 2 working days of your order being received, often sooner. Delivery times are then beyond our control. See Shipping page for estimates of time taken. These are estimates and may vary at busy times of year.

We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to limit the sale of our products or services to any person, geographic, region or jurisdiction. We may exercise this right on a case -by-case basis.

Errors and omissions

Occasionally there may be information on our site that contains typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omission that may relate to product descriptions, pricing, promotion, offers, shipping charges, transit times and availability. We reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies and omissions and to change or update information or cancel orders, including after you have submitted your order.

Payment

When you have completed your order you will be directed to a secure page to make your payment via Paypal or credit card. International payments are converted to sterling automatically.

Payment must be made before the order is complete, and the button is reserved for you, ready for despatch. Each completed order incurs a shipping charge.

Sales Tax

Please note that, where applicable, the customer is responsible for paying any import charges or local sales taxes which may be levied by your country. This includes VAT charged for goods imported into the EU, as well as any local Admin charges for collecting the VAT.

Returns Policy

If for any reason the button(s) you ordered are not what you expected, please let us know within 7 days. We offer a full refund of the purchase price, if the buttons are returned in the same condition, though not the return postage.

If you decline to accept a parcel because you do not want to pay VAT and Admin charges for imports into the EU, and if the parcel is returned to us in good condition, then we will refund the cost of the buttons, but not the cost of postage.

Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive.
