Large decorative buckle, made of elaborate filigree metal, in a double pointed star shape. Each side is embellished with a green paste stone held in a raised metal collar, and there is another green stone in the centre. Two rope loops on either side are for attaching to fabric, and loop and hook on the back for joining two sides together. There are four curved petal shapes in the centre to cover the join, and one of these shapes is missing. The points on the bottom corners have rings, perhaps for hanging additional embellishments? Probably of Middle East or Asian origin. Despite the missing bit, still a fabulous buckle of great vintage character.
