Old black dyed button with impressed image of seated figure and NORTH THAMES GAS BOARD. The Board was in existence between 1948 and 1972, when it became part of British Gas. I think the button is made of horn, but could be some kind of composition. Metal loop shank inserted directly into the back. Some wear as shown, but an interesting old button
