Antique cut steel button of unusual construction. Solid steel base with border of facetted cut steels individually rivetted through the base. A second layer of pierced steel is placed over this. This second layer has a scalloped edge surrounding an arrangement of rivetted cut steels. The two layers are joined together by a central boss which leads to the thick loop shank. Some signs of wear commensurate with age as shown.
