Antique solitaire button with detachable shank which is released with a spring mechanism. The (unmarked) silver top is shield shaped and has a pretty design of a flower inside a star. Back stamped WESTS PATENT with the rising sun logo. Vintage condition with a slight dent, as shown, but a nice collectable shape.
