Large Victorian picture button in stamped tinted brass, depicting an organ grinder, holding out his hat for donations, and his monkey sitting beside the organ. The metal scene is mounted on a dark wood base, with engine turned circles round the rim. Rounded wood back and U-shaped shank, secured with a brass collet. The metal part is a little loose, not sticking firmly to the wood, and it looks like some old solder on the collet on the back - but this is the same for all 3 examples so presumably they were made like that. I have left as found. Despite this fault, this is a quite rare and lovely pictorial collectable, showing a scene from Victorian life. Price is per button
