Antique silver plated button with raised figure of Puchinello. These grotesque clown like figures, often hook-nosed, and humpbacked , were some of the stock characters taken from the Italian Commedia dell' Arte. They were also the fore-runner of Mr Punch, of Punch and Judy fame. Flat disc button with the figure attached and a loop shank on the back. You could probably clean the silver plate to make it shiny - but I have left as found in original condition. An interesting collectable.
