Early pearl on steel, jewelled pin shank
Early pearl on steel, jewelled pin shank
£35.00
A late 18th century steel button with notched leaf pattern round the rim. This is topped by a saw-tooth pearl disc, and a further pressed steel layer, all held together with a jewelled pin shank. The paste stone appears to be held in a plated copper cup, which is joined to the flat loop shank on the back, secured with a domed collet. Flat steel back. Some rust damage as shown, but still plenty of shine left. I have not attempted to clean it. A lovely early and rare collectable.
