Large silver button, winged cupid firing bow, London 1900

£12.50

Large, antique English silver buttons, with rope rim and pierced image of a kneeling winged figure, firing a bow and arrow - probably Cupid. Full English hallmarks, lion for sterling silver, leopard’s head for London Assay office, and date letter “e” for 1900. Also maker’s initials, looks like IH, but not very clear. The rope rim is usually associated with Dutch silver buttons, but I couldn’t find any F mark for foreign or imported, so I believe these are cast English silver. Loop shank. Price is per button.
